“What legal precedent? How about the Declaration of Independence?”
“How you figure that?”
“The second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence states: “We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men …and women if I may add… are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” How about a quick laity definition of liberty…how about the Bill of Rights: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, the right to vote … bare arms… dare I continue? A laity definition of pursuit of happiness….how about Civil Rights? That leaves…guess what… life. What is the laity Declaration of Independence definition of life? Opposite of life is death. What do doctors do? Promote a healthy life, try to prevent death, then why isn’t a laity definition of life health care for all…along with liberty for all and pursuit of happiness for all?
